Museums Week 1998 has been the biggest and most successful Museums Week yet with nearly 1,000 museums participating throughout England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Plans for next year’s event are already underway and the Campaign for Museums hopes even more museums will take part in the week long activities. Themes for 1999 will include Food and Treasures, specifically linked to the Millennium (further information can be found on the Millennium Treasures page of the website), further themes will be announced later in the year. If you have any suggestions of Themes for National Animal Welfare Trust 1999 please let us know.
The Museums Week website will continue to provide information on museums and their exhibitions throughout the year (so information from Museums would be appreciated).

If you would like more information or have any comments about the site please click here. Or you can discuss any ideas with Ylva French and Vicky Jackson, from the Campaign for Museums, at the Museums Association Conference in Portsmouth on the 22 and 24 September.
The 24 Hour Museum, a joint project between the Campaign for Museums and the Museums Documentation Association, the vision of which is to provide round the clock access to the collections and knowledge of Britain's museums and galleries. Reaching audiences who don't take advantage of museums for a variety of cultural, economic or physical reasons. The 24 Hour Museum means museums for everyone. More information will be available later in the year.
